The LANAP® Protocol Uses
Gum disease is a condition that can significantly affect your quality of life, but it is not commonly discussed. This disease can cause patients to lose confidence and worry about losing their teeth. Our office offers a unique and certified laser gum disease treatment called the LANAP® protocol.
The LANAP® protocol utilizes a specialized dental laser, the PerioLase® MVP-7, which employs a small fiber, approximately the width of three human hairs, to target and eliminate bacteria located deep within the pockets of the gums, while leaving healthy tissue unaffected.
Due to the gentle nature of the procedure, patients can expect immediate results, including reduced bleeding when brushing and improved breath. While it is important to allow time for healing and recovery, patients are typically able to resume their normal activities, including driving and returning to work, soon after the LANAP® treatment.
